THE PERSON BEHIND THE PROJECTS
Hi, I’m Matt.

I’m Matt Kiazyk, a software engineer in Canada. I like making useful things and learning how to build something I haven’t tried before.
It started with a VIC-20.
I started with small programs on a VIC-20 and went on to make my own levels for Duke Nukem. Over the past 30 years, I’ve kept building and learning. Along the way, I’ve built enterprise software in .NET that’s still used today.
Building is how I learn.
I don’t always know how every part will work when I start. Building is how I learn. Sometimes I’m making something to help someone else. Sometimes I want to understand something new, and making it myself is the best way to find out.
The tools and the work have changed over the years. I’ve changed with them, from those early programs and game levels to enterprise software, native apps, and web development.
What I’m working on now.
I maintain Xcodes.app and the Xcodes command-line tool with an open-source community. I also build Worm Hole, a game you play in Messages, and Chalkalytics, software for gymnastics coaches. My work on Matter Neuroscience includes iOS data storage, sync, photo features, and AI integrations.
This site is where I share that work and write about what I’m learning.
